This advertisement takes a stand on sexual harassment, bullying, and other issues men both face and are the perpetrators of. Despite its noble message, it was met with controversy online. The video on Youtube published by Gillette themselves garnered 820 thousand likes while having nearly double that in dislikes, with a total of 1.6 million dislikes. There were multiple reasons for this controversy. Some felt that Gillette was taking advantage of serious issues to promote their product, while others disagreed with the website. Some were tired of “PC companies” and wanted to let “boys be boys”:

This ad was never pulled, and still remains on youtube.

In my opinion, this advertisement has nothing wrong with it. I feel that all it did was try to bring exposure to issues that are ingrained within society. In her tweet, Bernice King says it best; this ad is pro-humanity. The way the ad was structured didn't feel as if Gillette was selling a product by using social justice. It felt like they were using their platform to promote a good cause.
